"Why is it always snowing?" said a woman looking out towards the city of London. In the background she hears the local news:
"And we are yet in another week without sunshine. A task force has been assembled by her royal majesty in order to combat this constant downpour of snow on our beloved city. Residents are advise to stay indoors till more news develops".
While the news people are chatting away this same woman hears coughing in the next room. "Mom" she said to herself, she got up from her chair and went into her moms bedroom. There she sees her ill mother dealing with the hardships of not only her old age, and poor choices she made, but the bad weather that is plaguing the city. "Thank you, sweetie *coughs*" the mother said as her only daughter covers her up, fixes her soup and gives it to her. "*sips* so? Aren't you suppose to be at school?" the mother said, looking at her daughter. The daughter sighed, and told her, "Classes are cancelled till the snow breaks up" she says hesitatingly on her words. The mother smiled and say, "It's okay, my darling angel. Maybe tomorrow" she said, the daughter then suddenly got angry at her and said to her own mother, "Tomorrow?! There won't be a tomorrow! God mom, you keeping hoping for the best, but here? In this city? Hope is truly fleeting". she storms out of her moms bedroom and goes outside, despite the warnings from the local news to stay indoors, the snow storm isn't that bad as the news made it out to be.
The rivers are iced up, and some roads are slick, but the majority of the city was and is opened for business. The daughter walks to her favorite bookstore, hoping to get another book to read. She enters the bookstore and encounters Bobby who is on the phone with someone. "I- I understand. But if we can work-" the daughter hears all of this while snooping around for a good book. She hears more of the conversation, "But. Of course I care what kind of dumb questio-" he yells back at the person over the phone. The phone called abruptly ended and Bobby stormed out to the counter noticing someone was in here. "Ah Eliza. Sorry you have to hear that" Bobby said as he hides his documents and stuff on the counter and puts it in his personal safe in the backroom. "Now what can I get for you?" he said to her, Eliza said, "Another Sherlock Holmes story" she said, Bobby smiled and said "Of course, I know just the one". Bobby went into the mystery & detective genre section of the library and picked out the book Eliza is mentioning or at least a guess. Bobby handed her the book, she paid for it. And later on leaves the bookstore.
Eliza looked up as she stares blankly at the sky, "Why can't my life be better than this?" she said to herself, the whole time she walked home, nothing was more on her mind than this question, "Come on girl. You want to be a theater performer, you want a nice man in your life. But it's always something" she said to herself, she got on the bus and looks at the random bystanders that also got on, "Why can't i be like him? Or her? Or those two lovely couple? Pfft only a fool can dream". After a few minutes the bus stopped at her destination, she got off and entered back into her house. The house itself is nice, modern. But sadly getting anything close by is a joke. Eliza got upstairs and notices her mom in the kitchen, wearing a robe and a hairnet of sorts. "Mom? Your suppose to be in bed!" she said as she hastily puts down her book she brought and rushed over, her mom stopped her and looked at her, "I want to do this myself. So you and I can have some, mom and daughter time" she smiled and continued to work on the dishes.
Eliza in shock by her mother's response, stepped away and sat at the table, she looked blankly at her and said to herself. "I love you mom".
